Google Drive alternative

Stop delivering your best work
as a shared folder.

Drive is excellent storage and a poor deliverable. Momentz turns the same files into a branded gallery your client understands at a glance, with real 4K playback instead of Drive’s preview player, and downloads that do not need a Google account.

Three things a shared folder does to your work

It shows your personal account. The client sees an e-mail address, a Drive UI and, if the sharing settings slip, more of your files than you intended. Nothing about it says studio.

It flattens video. Drive’s in-browser player is not a delivery player: it re-encodes for preview, offers nothing like adaptive streaming. A film you graded for three days plays back looking like a proxy.

And it makes the client do the work. Folder trees, "download all" that silently zips in the background, permission prompts, sometimes a Google login. Every one of those is a step between your work and the reaction you wanted.

  • A gallery, not a directory. Covers, chapters and a layout built for looking at photographs.
  • Real streaming. Adaptive 4K playback, not a preview transcode.
  • No Google account required. Anyone with the link can watch and download.
  • Your identity on the page. Your logo and your colours, and no sign of your personal inbox.

Keep Drive where it is good

Drive is a fine place for masters, contracts and archives, and Momentz does not ask you to move any of it. You can import straight from Drive into a gallery, so the material you already store there becomes the delivery without a download-and-reupload round trip.

On the other end, a client who wants the files in their own Drive hits "Send to my cloud" and authorises once, and the transfer happens cloud to cloud, without a 40 GB download in the middle.

Questions people ask before switching

Can I import the files I already have in Drive?
Yes. Connect the account once and pick the folder. The files move cloud to cloud, so you are not downloading 60 GB just to upload it again.
Does my client still get the original files?
Always. Streaming is for watching; the originals are downloadable as a ZIP or transferable straight into the client’s own Drive or Dropbox.
Is my storage doubled if I keep both?
Momentz storage counts only what you upload to Momentz. Many studios keep masters in Drive and use Momentz purely for the client-facing delivery.
What about privacy?
Galleries are unlisted by default and can be password-protected. Clients never create accounts, so there is no profile attached to a person. Favorites attach to the gallery.

Still unsure? Write to hi@momentz.io . A person answers, usually within minutes.
